Toronto Zoo: Senior Tickets (65+)

The Toronto Zoo publishes a Senior ticket for guests 65 and older: $38 in peak season and $30.50 in the off season, against $45 and $35 for an adult.

The Toronto Zoo sells a Senior ticket to every guest aged 65 and older, and the zoo publishes the full price list on its own site. That makes this an easy discount to plan around: the senior price is a set figure for each season rather than a guess at the gate. A senior pays $38 in peak season against $45 for an adult, and $30.50 in the off season against $35, so the saving holds all year and grows a little in the busy months.

How to claim it

  1. Check your visit date against the seasons before you go. Peak season runs from May 2 to October 31, and the off season runs from November 1 to May 1.
  2. Buy your tickets on the zoo website or at the gate, and choose the Senior ticket for each guest aged 65 and older.
  3. Bring photo ID that shows your age, in case staff ask for it at entry.

The fine print is mostly about seasons and taxes. All the prices here are plus tax, and the tax label changes with the season in the zoo’s own table: prices in the off season are listed plus HST. Child tickets cover ages 3 to 12 and cost $32 in peak season and $25 in the off season. Prices can change between seasons, so a quick look at the rates page on the zoo site before a trip is worth the minute it takes.

If you visit more than once or twice a year, look at membership as well. The zoo publishes Senior memberships and Dual Senior memberships alongside its daily rates, and a membership can cost less than a few days of admission while adding parking and guest benefits on some tiers. The honest comparison is your likely number of visits set against the published membership price.

Practical tip: weekday mornings in the off season are the calmest time to visit, and your senior ticket costs the least then as well. Arrive early, see the outdoor pavilions first, and keep the indoor pavilions for later in the day.
