Travel Checklists for Seniors
Simple checklists for trips near and far: what to pack, what to arrange before you leave, and the discounts to ask about on the way.
Before you book
- Ask about senior fares and rates first: VIA Rail offers 60+ fares, and many hotel groups have senior rates that are not shown by default.
- Compare the senior rate against public promotions; sometimes the sale price wins.
- Check cancellation terms before paying.
Before you leave
- Photo ID and health cards, plus a copy stored separately.
- Medications in original packaging, with a list of what you take.
- Chargers, glasses, and hearing aid batteries, the small things that ruin a day when forgotten.
- Tell your bank where you are travelling.
On the road
Senior admission pricing exists at most major attractions. It is rarely advertised at the door, so ask at the ticket desk.
